A short note from me.
Hello — I’m Simon Dass, an inclusive secondary educator and builder of teacher‑first tools. I design VCE‑VM curriculum, develop lightweight web apps that cut admin time, and create learning experiences that help disengaged students belong and succeed.
Education. BFA (Jazz), Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne (2015–2017). Master of Teaching, University of Melbourne Graduate School of Education (2018–2019).
Where I’ve worked. Classroom teacher at Craigieburn Secondary College (Jan 2020–Aug 2021) and Indie School Ringwood (Aug 2021–present), where I also design curriculum used statewide and implemented technology solutions.
What I’ve built. AdjustMe (NCCD adjustment comment generator), TrackMe (progress logging and reporting), and ClassWork (rapid lesson creation and delivery). These tools reduce paperwork, improve data clarity, and return time to teachers.
Ethos & philosophy. Safety first, then learning. Predictable routines, clear scaffolds, flexible evidence. Trauma‑informed, strengths‑based, and relentlessly practical. Students should see themselves succeeding — often and visibly.
Hobbies. Jazz performance & recording, photography, and tinkering with small web apps that make teachers’ days easier.
Cheers,
